The Neighborhood Company was formed in 2015 at the request of a local real estate developer who was having issues with their association management. Laura Ficco was 29 years into her career in real estate development and was having those same issues with large-scale management companies. She had some great ideas and knew she was up to the task, so she formed a lifestyle management company of her own, The Neighborhood Company (TNC).
Today, TNC manages 40 communities of all shapes and sizes:

“I love problem solving with the team. Every situation is unique and needs careful consideration. I have seen in a lot of other property management companies that are so jazzed about the newest software or something that they think is going to make the company run well, but they’re lacking that personal connection. Property management is typically a very transient industry with a lot of turnover, but we are not experiencing that. Our goal is to provide an environment that fosters trust and satisfaction from our customers, vendors and employees.”

Cathy comes to us from Hawaii and is now landlocked in Cibolo, Texas due to a military move. Prior to working in property management, she worked in Washington DC on Capitol Hill and volunteered extensively at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC/BAMC). Her years of experience include working with properties of all sizes, from large developments to small six-unit condos. Cathy’s ability to build relationships is one of her most valuable assets. She says the best part of her job is “being just as excited as the owners buying their first home (or their eighth), their forever home, putting in a pool or changing out the stock front door to one of their own choosing”…approved by the HOA of course.
Although she has been in Texas for 15 years, she has yet to say “y’all”. When not boxing (mitts only) with her trainer, she likes to search for recipes, knowing full well she won’t be making them. Cathy has two daughters, both attending Texas State University.
